Dear Astronomy communities,
We’d like to announce the Astro-CC (Astronomy Open Science Competence Centre) Pilot project which is funded by a OSCARS cascading grant.
Astro-CC Pilot is designed to enable the astronomy research communities (astronomy, planetary sciences, heliophysics, astroparticles…) to accelerate their use of Open Science by supporting the implementation of FAIR principles. The project will run community ‘competence centre’ events about: i) the implementation of interoperable services, ii) the development and evolution of the underlying data sharing frameworks and standards (IVOA, IPDA etc.) and their potential integration in EOSC, and iii) exploitation of the system for scientific research.
Astro-CC is centred on running events for the community, especially you!
We are now reaching out to the European astronomy communities. We want to make sure that these events are relevant and useful and correspond to the real needs.
We plan an “Astro-CC Engagement Meeting” for the purpose of gathering your input and wishes for these events. This will be held as a videocon at 15:00 on Wednesday 26 February 2025.
