The 12th Coronal Loops Workshop will be held from 8-11 June 2026 at Northumbria University in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK). The Coronal Loops Workshops are a series of highly focused biennial meetings, organized since 2002. They deal with the observation and modeling of magnetically confined solar plasma. The overarching theme for the meeting is Magnetic Field Reconfiguration and Energy Partition.
The abstract submission (for talks and posters) and pre-registration will open on the 15th of February. We encourage graduate students and early-career postdocs to participate and present their research work. While abstracts are not required for participation (pre-registration is mandatory), preference will be given to those who submit abstracts, to limit the number of participants to 75. The abstract submission and pre-registration will close on the 15th of March. The registration fee (£270) includes the workshop, a welcome reception, coffee breaks, lunches from Monday to Thursday. The conference dinner on Wednesday is £50 per person.
The LOC aims to offer a limited number of registration fee waivers or full support, with preference for PhD students and early career researchers. To be considered for support, please check the box on the pre-registration form.
