The LPC2E laboratory (CNRS, Univ. Orléans, CNES), located in Orléans, France, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work on solar/solar wind – magnetosphere – ionosphere interactions. The contract may last up to 2 years. The successful applicant will be working in a very favourable scientific environment, with a team that has direct access to data from several space missions (e.g. Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, Cluster) and that is developing or has developed instruments for future space missions (e.g. BepiColombo, JUICE, Comet Interceptor, Helioswarm).
The content of the research project itself is relatively open: the applicant should propose a short research project that maximises the synergy of the proposed research with the team’s activities, i.e. focusing on the interactions between the sun/solar wind, the magnetosphere and the ionosphere. Candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with research activities of the ESPACE group at the LPC2E laboratory in order to maximise the synergy of the proposed research project with the team’s activities. The methodology involved in the research project is flexible: instrumentation, data analysis, analytical or numerical modelling, etc.
Applications should include: (i) a CV containing, among other things, 2 or 3 references and a list of publications, (ii) a cover letter, (iii) a short research proposal (maximum 2 pages) describing the project that would be carried out if selected. All applications must be submitted through the emploi.cnrs.fr website, on which the offer is published, before 15 September 2025.
