A new postdoctoral position is available in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) Planetary Magnetospheres Group, focusing on solar wind structure and evolution in the inner heliosphere and implications for Mercury and Earth.

The project will investigate the structure and radial evolution of the solar wind using multi-spacecraft in situ measurements from  Solar Orbiter, Parker Solar Probe, and near-Earth missions. Topics include solar wind variability, stream evolution with heliocentric distance, and connections between solar wind conditions to planetary magnetospheric studies.

The position is available for 1 year in the first instance, starting as soon as possible.

Closing date: 12:00 pm Friday 6 March 2026
