We’re trying to put together an inventory of SDO data users. We don’t need to know those who download things for particular science papers (ADS does that for us), but we are interested in those who regularly get data for other purposes — things like space weather forecasting, citizen science, public displays, running models, etc. The thought is that this will help NASA and others better understand the large impact that SDO data has in addition to the hundreds of science papers published each year.
We’re looking for anyone using SDO for:
☀️ Space weather forecasting
🌍 Public outreach / museum displays
🛰️ Mission or science planning (e.g. DKIST, Hinode)
💻 Modeling, visualization, or augmented data
🏢 Commercial, public sector, or citizen science
🌐 Remote DRMS sites
If that’s you — or someone you know — we’d love a few details:
✅ Purpose & organization
✅ Point of contact
✅ Data products used
✅ How it’s used (brief)
✅ Link (if any)
✅ Notification triggers (e.g. “alert if 4h w/o data”)
We’re trying to capture the real-world value and reach of SDO — help us tell that story. 📡
