Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a two-year postdoctoral research position funded by DIM-ORIGINE, available at the Laboratory of Plasma Physics (LPP), jointly hosted by École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) and Sorbonne Université (Paris).
This position is part of our involvement in the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission to Mercury. The successful candidate will focus on analyzing ion observations from the Mass Spectrum Analyzer (MSA) instrument onboard the Mio (Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter) spacecraft, interpreting plasma measurements within Mercury’s magnetosphere, with the possibility of extending the work to include comparison with numerical modeling. Applicants are encouraged to propose complementary research directions aligned with this scientific framework.
The selected researcher will be integrated into a dynamic international team with active collaborations across Europe, Japan and the US, and will have access to data as they become available from BepiColombo’s orbit around Mercury.
