A PhD position is available to work on theoretical and observational aspects of solar flares, to better understand the low atmosphere’s response (the chromosphere) to these events. The project includes analyzing observational data from the ESA Solar Orbiter mission.

The candidate will go through a selection process to obtain the funding, which is set by the program for international joint doctoral degrees (ADI) between the University of Paris-Saclay (France) and University of Exeter (UK).

The winning candidate will start in October 2026, and she/he will be co-supervised by Susanna Parenti (France) and Andrew Hillier (UK).
