SUMMARY:School on The heliospheric space plasma physics in the era of multi
 point space missions
DESCRIPTION:A Course on “The heliospheric space plasma physics in the era
of multipoint space missions”\, directed by Prof. Francesco Berrilli (U
niversità di Roma Tor Vergata\, Italy)\, Prof. Giuseppe Consolini (Istitu
to Nazionale di Astrofisica – INAF\, Italy)\, and Prof. William Matthaeu
s (Dept. Physics\, University of Delaware\, USA) will be held in L’Aquil
 a\, Italy\, 18-22 May\, 2026. The course is organized by Consorzio “Area
di Ricerca in Astrogeofisica”.\n\nThe school will serve as a comprehens
ive introduction to the importance of multipoint measurements in the under
standing of heliospheric space plasma physics from the Sun to the Earth’
s magnetospheric environment. Multipoint measurements are indeed crucial f
or investigating phenomena such as magnetic reconnection\, plasma turbulen
 ce\, shock wave formation\, and particle acceleration\, as well as\, the t
hree-dimensional structure of the solar corona\, tracking the evolution of
solar eruptions\, and understanding the initiation and propagation of sol
ar wind streams\, which all play central roles in the dynamics of the sola
r and heliospheric plasmas as well as its interaction with planetary magne
tospheres. This course aims at providing an overview of the importance of
multipoint measurements in studying space plasma processes occurring in th
e heliosphere to establish a critical connection between the data from fut
ure missions and complementary data from next-generation ground-based obse
rvatories.\n\nThe school is addressed to graduate and PhD students\, young
scientists as well as undergraduates in physics\, astrophysics\, heliophy
sics\, space plasma physics\, planetary sciences\, or related fields. Earl
y-career stage professionals are invited to apply as well.\n\nApplications
are due before 14 March\, 2026.\n\nFor further information visit the scho
ol web page or send an e-mail to info@astrogeofisica.it.\n\n(Transmis par
 Alessandro Retinò)
