SUMMARY:ESPD Summer school: “The physics of the Sun and the Heliosphere
 ”
DESCRIPTION:The 2nd European Solar Physics Division summer school “The ph
 ysics of the Sun and the Heliosphere” will take place from 27th of April
  until 3rd of May 2026 in Dubrovnik\, Croatia. The school aims at giving a
  broad overview of our research field to master students\, PhD students\, 
 and early career postdocs.\n\nThe lectures will be given by world-leading 
 experts in each of the subfields of the school:\n\n 	Physics of the chromo
 sphere and its coupling to the photosphere (Jorrit Leenaarts)\n 	Waves and
  instabilities in solar atmospheric plasma (Ineke de Moortel)\n 	Evolution
  of magnetic fields and magnetic reconnection (Eric Priest)\n 	Physics of 
 flares and CMEs (Lucia Kleint)\n 	Physics of the solar wind and turbulence
  (Milan Maksimovic)\n 	Physics of the heliosphere (Manuela Temmer)\n 	How 
 to keep your mental health in shape (David Horsfall)\n\nAnd hand-on sessio
 ns on the following topics:\n\n 	SunPy (Laura Hayes)\n 	JHelioviewer (Luka
  Poniatowski)\n 	Magnetic diagnostics in the photosphere and chromosphere 
 (Ivan Milic)\n\nThe application form is available on the school website\, 
 and applications close on 31 January 2026.\n\nRegistration will open in Ma
 rch 2026 (for selected applicants only).
